Frequently asked questions
What is NEXTMarketReaction?
A tool that estimates how EUR/USD is likely to react in the first minutes after major U.S. economic releases, based on how it reacted after comparable releases in the past.
What is Preliminary Analysis?
An estimate shown before the Actual is published. It uses only pre-release information (the indicator, Forecast and Previous), is clearly labelled Preliminary, and in historical testing has been close to 50/50 — treat it as context.
What changes when Actual is published?
The surprise (Actual compared with Forecast) becomes known. The release analysis — our calibrated model — then replaces the preliminary estimate, once our data provider has received the Actual.
What is a Directional Forecast?
A release supported by our directional model. For these releases NEXTMarketReaction shows UP / DOWN probabilities for EUR/USD.
What is a Volatility Event?
An event, such as a speech, that may move markets but has no supported directional model. We show it for context, without any UP / DOWN estimate.
What do Forecast, Previous and Actual mean?
Forecast is the economists' consensus published before the release; Previous is the value from the prior release; Actual is the newly published value.
What does Reliability mean?
How much comparable history supports a release-analysis probability: High, Medium or Low. It is not the probability itself.
Why do I only see 1, 3, 5, 8 and 15 minutes?
These five horizons give a clear picture from the immediate reaction to the later short-term state without clutter. The underlying model still evaluates every minute internally.
